In my blog post for Apple Slice "Donuts", I said to use a piping bag or plastic baggy to pipe Nutella and/or peanut butter onto the apple slices.
But, how exactly can I make a DIY piping bag? You may be wondering.

DIY PIPING BAGS
SUPPLIES:
- Plastic sandwich baggy OR Easter "carrot-shaped" plastic baggy
- Frosting (or Nutella, peanut butter, etc.)
- Scissors
DIRECTIONS:
- Set an open plastic baggy into a small jar or cup (with a wide mouth) and fold the open end of the baggy around it (see picture below).
- Put some frosting into the baggy.
- Unfold the plastic baggy, lift it out of the jar/cup and push the frosting down to a corner/point.
- Twist the top of the baggy tight and then snip a little bit off of the corner to make a hole.
- Use the baggy just like a piping bag.
Note: If you want to use a piping-bag insert, simply put the piece into a corner of a baggy, fill with frosting and snip the corner carefully (so the piece fits, but does not fall out).
